Travel eSIM comparison 2026: Lempart Flex vs Airalo, Saily, Ubigi, Holafly, Yesim and carrier day passes

This is our comparison of Lempart Flex with five well-known travel eSIM shops — Airalo, Saily, Ubigi, Holafly and Yesim — and with the US and Canadian carriers' roaming day passes. Same country, same number of days, unlimited against unlimited. Every other provider's price and terms are taken from its own website, dated under each table; ours are read live from our shop as this page opens.

How we compared

Like with like: an unlimited plan against an unlimited plan, for the same 7 or 30 days in the same country, plus one fixed-data plan of 10 GB where the providers sell one. A dash means the provider sells no such plan there.

Unlimited plans are not all alike. Each gives a certain amount of data at full speed — per day, or for the whole plan — and then keeps you online at a lower speed. The table puts that amount and that speed beside every price, so you can see what each price actually buys, not only what it costs.

We only show a provider where our price is lower for the same days. Where we are not cheaper, we say nothing rather than bend the numbers.

Price: what a week and a month really cost

For the trips most people take — a week's holiday or a month away — the gap is large. On our Everyday plan a week in the United States costs a fraction of what the big travel brands charge for the same seven days, and a month costs less than a week of carrier roaming.

Carrier day passes are the most expensive way to stay online abroad: the carrier charges for every day you use your phone, so a week of passes costs more than most eSIM plans for a whole month.

Full speed, then the speed after the limit

Our plans state two numbers before you pay: how much data you get at full speed each day, and the speed you keep after it. Nothing is left to guess.

Some providers give a bigger daily amount at full speed — useful if you stream video for hours every day. For most travellers the more important number is the second one: after the daily amount, 1 Mbps still runs maps, ride apps, WhatsApp and video calls, Instagram and YouTube in standard quality. 512 kbps is enough for messages, maps and calls. So even our slower plans are not a compromise for everyday travel — you pay less and still do everything you need. That is the double value: a lower price, and a speed that is good enough.

If you need more, choose a faster plan: our Extra speed plans keep 5 Mbps after the daily amount. You pick the speed you need and pay only for it.

Fair use: when the limits are not disclosed

Holafly and Yesim sell plans described as unlimited without stating how much full-speed data you get or what speed you drop to. Their own help pages say that a fair usage policy may apply and that the operator may reduce your speed, but they do not say after how much data or to what speed. You cannot know in advance when your connection may slow down.

Travellers on forums such as Reddit report slowdowns after a few gigabytes a day on such plans. These reports are anecdotal and not confirmed by the providers, but they suggest the undisclosed limits are not much more generous than the published ones of other providers — including ours.

We think you should know before you pay. Every Lempart Flex plan states its daily full-speed amount and the speed after it, on the plan itself and in your receipt.

Choose your IP country

The IP country is where your internet traffic exits to the public internet. It matters more than many travellers expect: banking apps, streaming services and some websites behave differently depending on it.

Lempart Flex lets you choose it in many destinations — for example a US, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong or European exit — with the choice shown beside each plan before you buy. Among the other providers we compared, only Ubigi offers a choice, and only one: an IP address of your country of residence, for residents of ten countries. Airalo, Saily, Holafly and Yesim do not offer an IP choice on their own pages. Why apps act differently abroad.

Hotspot, account and rewards

Every Lempart Flex plan includes personal hotspot, so you can share your data with a laptop or a tablet. Holafly limits hotspot to a set amount a day; Yesim says it depends on the network.

You can buy without creating an account, and every purchase gives 10% back as credit for your next plan.

Carrier day passes

US and Canadian carriers charge for roaming by the day. The tables multiply each carrier's published daily price by the days of the trip, because that is what the bill shows. Inside their home country their own customers pay nothing extra; the comparison is for travel abroad.

How to choose

If you stream video for hours every day, a plan with a bigger daily full-speed amount may suit you better, even at a higher price.

If maps, messages, calls and social media fill your day, a plan that continues at 1 Mbps is plenty — and that is where prices differ most. Compare the plans for your own trip on every destination page: each one has its own comparison table.
